Construction mentoring · Experience · Better judgment

Better decisions, built on 47 years of construction experience.

Experience-based construction mentoring for contractors, company owners, and next-generation leaders—focused on risk, contracts, negotiation, leadership, and better decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk Contracts Negotiation Leadership

Start with the decision in front of you.

Construction leaders rarely suffer from a lack of information. The harder challenge is deciding what matters, what risk to accept, what questions to ask, and when to act.

The Contractor's Mentor brings experience-based perspective to those moments—so you can examine the situation more clearly and make a better decision of your own.

TCM is for general contractors, specialty contractors, construction company owners, and emerging leaders seeking a seasoned mentor—not someone to take the decision out of their hands.

Better judgment across the entire project lifecycle.

Every phase creates decisions. Every completed project creates lessons for the next one.

Jeff Forrest, founder of The Contractor's Mentor

Experience becomes legacy when it is passed forward.

I have spent 47 years in construction, working through booms, downturns, difficult projects, hard negotiations, leadership challenges, mistakes, recoveries, and wins.

Over time, I learned that information is everywhere, but information alone does not make a sound decision. Judgment is knowing which facts matter, which questions to ask, what risk to accept, when to negotiate, and when to walk away.

I created The Contractor's Mentor to pass those lessons forward—not to tell contractors what to do, but to help them think more clearly, recognize risk earlier, and make better decisions of their own.

As a construction business mentor, I bring that experience to the decisions owners and leaders face before, during, and after a project.
